New Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Trailer
During the Super Bowl tonight, a new teaser for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 aired. Then, Marvel put an extended cut of the video online, which you can check out in the player below.
While this may seem like usual trailer fair, we did get some new scenes here, including the arrival of the villain of the piece, who is Ayesha, seeing Yondu be welcomed to the team, Nebula and Mantis being on the team, and much more. It’s still a little unclear what is going on here, but things will likely start becoming clear with the movie’s release being only a few months away.
It’s clear though that the sequel will be much bigger, and I’m not just talking about the gun that Gamora was holding. One interesting note is that we still have not seen Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet yet, who if you recall is confirmed to be Peter Quill’s (aka Star-Lord) father. Maybe James Gunn and his team are trying to keep him for the movie.
Regardless, this movie looks to be just as fun and humorous as the original film, and we can’t wait to see it. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 arrives in theaters May 5th.

I watched the first movie and it was OK, a different kind of humor, but overall a good story. Considering I have two kids and they love it, I am looking forward for this second one. Great trailer! 🙂

I generally don't like overly self-aware/ironic remakes of comics because it comes across as a bit of a piss-take and not respecting the source material (Green Lantern, Ghost Rider etc).
That said I totally enjoyed Guardians and will definitely see the sequel. It had an ironic edge but also a genuine love for the material. The CGI was definitely a cut above. And, well, baby Groot.

With the exception of the finale (which is lousy and very furstrante), the first movie is very cool (cooler than I was imagining it would be).
This second movie has the potential to be much better and I really hope that a decent ending will now be presented.

Haha, sadly lousy endings are something relatively common these days, it's called art. 🙂 I didn't find the end too bad though, and that Tree is certainly the best part, along with the good humor. 🙂

What is wrong with the ending? It was a climax near-death climax to the action followed by a cheerful return from the dead by an adorable main character and a catchy tune.
I don't think the ending could have been much better than it was.
