New Devil May Cry 5 Trailer Goes Behind The Cutscenes
We’ve got four days until Dante and his crew return in Devil May Cry 5. Capcom’s latest promotional trailer isn’t quite what you’d expect….it’s a behind the scenes look at the real-life reference videos the game makers create for the cutscenes. Given how over-the-top and outrageous these cutscenes can be, it’s kind of unbelievable that they are created in real life first.
It’s difficult, but as you can see, with cardboard models, foam props and a lot of perspective trickery, it can be done!
The things you can get paid to do in this world….
This trailer actually isn’t the only place you can see the live-action reference cutscenes. They’re included as part of the Deluxe Edition of Devil May Cry 5, which also includes four alternate devil breaker weapons for Nero, motorcycle weapon variant for Dante, alternate style rank and title screen announcers, and classic battle theme music options. But the ability to switch visuals to actual people swinging around plastic swords is the real attraction here.
If that’s not enough for you…the Collector’s Edition of DMC5 has everything from the Deluxe Edition and piles on a replica model of Nico’s motor home, an art book and notes from Nico’s workbench, a premium pin, a bumper sticker and an 11″ x 17″ exclusive cloth print.
Devil May Cry 5 will be out March 8 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. A demo version is currently downloadable for free on PS4 and XBox.
