New 3DS Cover Plates Now For Sale In USA
This Friday Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer went on sale at stores across America, and true to their word, Nintendo released the small version of the New 3DS as part of a package with the game. The package included two custom cover plates, but you can get more of them.
One advantage the small New 3DS has over its more common big brother is the ability to install patterned plates the company sells to customize the shell of your handheld any way you like (you will need a special screwdriver to do this). Nintendo now offers ten cover plates on its website, with design themes ranging from Pikachu to Zelda to generic color changes. By contrast, the Japanese now have 60 cover plate options to pick from.
It’s worth pointing out that a cover plate, being non-electronic, does not have lockout technology preventing you from installing a Japanese one. So import all you want.
In the US, prices on the cover plates range from $9.99 to $16.99.
