In Netflix’s upcoming horror-thriller Blood Red Sky, meek foreigner Nadja and her little daughter have just unknowingly bought a ticket for the worst airplane experience possible. Nadja needs to get from one place to another quickly, for she has a rare blood disorder that needs fixing. Too bad the flight is about to be hijacked by terrorists. Also, there’s a vampire on board.
When Dominic Purcell, who you might know today as Mick Rory on Legends of Tomorrow, holds up his weapon and announces his plan, everybody freaks out. Nadja especially, who begs the terrorists not to take her child. They don’t listen, and then they cruelly blow Nadja away. But that’s not the end of the story…you see, the nature of her blood disorder is something science can’t yet fully explain. That’s right….SHE’S the vampire!
The bad guys packed plenty of ammo for regular humans, but never thought to bring any wooden stakes. Now fully in vampire form, Nadja is out for vengeance. This was something she was trying to avoid since her kid has no idea. Nadja fears if her daughter saw her in vampire mode she’d be terrified of her own mother, and she may be right to worry — with her large fangs, pointy ears and shiny bald head, she doesn’t look exactly comforting.
Also, Nadja is the last vampire in existence, so she was trying to keep a low profile. So much for that. If this movie works by traditional rules though, can’t she just make more vampires by biting people?
Blood Red Sky pulls into Netflix’s hangar July 23.
