In a time when endless runners with in-app purchases have become quite popular, Argentinian developer Mariano Larronde was motivated to go back to basics and create an experience meant to be played from start to finish, keeping micro-transactions as an accessory, not as a main asset to enjoy completely enjoy the experience. In Mushroom Guardian, players will test their skills without any kind of guidance, in the vein of old-school platformers aiming to create powerful feelings of victory in the player.
Mushroom Guardian is very much like going back in time to some of the best arcade platformers released on consoles during the 90s, with fast-paced gameplay that mixes different styles and requires very diverse skills, from traditional run, roll and jump, flying, riding mine-karts, barrels to arrow shooting. All through 20 unforgiving levels carefully designed to be easy to beat but really hard to get 100% completed.
20 levels of fast-paced action in the fantasy world of gnomes.
Challenge a friend in the two-player Archery mini-game or play solo and test your skills.
A unique combination of classic gameplay mechanics: Aim, shoot, jump, fly and roll.
Gorgeous and high definition graphics.
Easy to learn, as modern endless runners.
Hard to master, like old retro platformers, a true blast from the past.
Epic Orchestral Soundtrack.
Achievements and Leaderboards.
Mushroom Guardian is out now for iOS, and there are planned versions for PC and Android as well.
