Monster Tale Ultimate Announced, Coming To The 3DS
Remakes and remastering games are nothing new. In fact, the last year or so has had a plethora of remade or remastered games. Results of which are…mixed at best. Today, another title was announced to join that group of games, however this one may be a remastering all unto itself.
Monster Tale Ultimate, a remake of the 2011 Nintendo DS title Monster Tale, has been announced as coming to the 3DS. In case you never heard of this game, you play as a young girl named Ellie, who just so happens to be lost in Monster World. In the game you try and get her home, all the while trying to save Monster Role with her companion Chomp. That’s the big guy in the pic above.
So, if this is a remake/remastering…what is getting remade/remastered? According to the developer DreamRift, everything! The visuals are getting redone and made better with new assets, 3D support, gameplay adjustments and fixes, AND the ability to switch between two music forms. You can either play the original chiptune musical score, or a new orchestral soundtrack.
According to DreamRift, the gameplay got a lot of rebalancing and enhancing, fixing a lot of complaints fans had for the original title. They fixed them happily, all the while making sure the game didn’t lose it’s difficulty.
DreamRift’s Peter Ong said:
“A lot of the rebalancing has nothing to do with difficulty. [It] is instead about making the various components of the game more balanced in a manner that makes the game more strategically interesting.”
At present, Monster Tale is set to launch this spring as a 3DS eShop exclusive.
