Monster Rancher 1& 2 DX- PS1 classics goes to Switch
Monsters Rancher 1& 2 DX is a remaster of Monster Rancher 1 and 2. When I was twelve, All of my friends are playing Pokemon but I was that edgy kid who plays Monster Rancher instead. I prefer a sequel for Ps5 and X-series but this remaster will do for me. There were attempts to bring back Monster Rancher to a new audience with a Pay to win the mobile game but it flopped.
These games are very popular during the PS1 era. It is a game where you own a monster farm. You get monsters by summoning them from CDs and DVDs. My ps1 and ps2 got a lot of trips to the repairman back then because excessive CD summoning damages the console lens. Even up to these days whenever I see a CD, DVD, or Blu Ray, I always wonder what monster I can summon from them. There was a Monster Rancher game on Nintendo DS before and you summon monsters via Passwords.
In Monster Rancher you can just chill and keep monsters as pets or train them and make them compete in tournaments. The monsters have a limited lifespan so they can die of sickness, neglect, accident, or old age. You can combine old monsters to make a new species.
Nintendo Switch doesn’t have CDs, so CD summoning won’t be able for this Remaster. The Monster will be summoned via digital library instead. I would like to see Monster Rancher 3 ad 4 to get a port someday. This port will be a great way to reintroduce this classic to a new generation. The Graphics are improved, it doesn’t look like a PS1 game anymore. Online Battle will be added on this port and you can even compete against the players from Japan. I hope this Game will be successful enough that Tecmo will consider making a Monster Rancher 6.
