Monster Hunter To Be Adapted Into Hollywood Film
A Hollywood produced film adaptation of the Monster Hunter series is currently in development, according to remarks made by series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto. Speaking at the Tokyo Game Show earlier this week, Tsujimoto explained that the project was in very early stages and refused to elaborate on other details.
The exact quote, which was translated by Gematsu, did not make clear whether the film would be live-action or an animated movie. “While it isn’t related to Stories,” said Tsujimoto. “There is a Hollywood movie adaptation of the main series in progress.”
Monster Hunter series first hit store shelves in Japan on March 11, 2004. It went on to become a widely successful franchise for Capcom and has since gone on to spawn multiple sequels and spin-offs across a variety of platforms. However, recent titles have generally been exclusive to Nintendo consoles and handheld system, with the latest release, Monster Hunter Generations, available on the Nintendo 3DS.
