Miyamoto/Dyack Patent Revealed
This may be the most exciting patent discovery yet, as it links Miyamoto with Eternal Darkness developers Silicon Knights…
This patent was originally filed in 2010 but has only just been published. The basic jist is that Nintendo and Silicon Knights appear to be working on a game which would revolve around the games characters reacting to objects in a real time way. For example, as seen in the picture above, a character could walk down a corridor, and as they walk past a painting tagged as “scary”, they react with a sense of fear and hurry past.
The most obvious guess… Eternal Darkness 2. However, this could be used to great effect in Luigis Mansion 2!

This is good game design.
However it shouldn’t be patented.
This is only a character interacting with their environment.
