July may seem like an odd time to be releasing a slasher flick set during New Year’s, but that’s just how Minutes to Midnight rolls. Uncork’d Entertainment’s latest VOD horror frightfest takes you from a humid and sweaty summer to a cold December 31, and a remote ski lodge where crazy guys with weapons made from human remains wait to attack whoever wanders by. Eight people chose to do just that.
William Baldwin, who starred in Backdraft, Flatliners and Sliver, headlines the film. Also starring in Minutes to Midnight are Richard Grieco (“21 Jump Street”), Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects), John Hennigan (Never Leave Alive), Dominique Swain (Astro), Viva Bianca (“Spartacus : War of the Damned”), Jared Cohn (Pernicious) and Christopher Judge (“Stargate SG-1”). The movie was written by Victoria Dadi and Christopher M. Don, and directed by Christopher Ray.
Start counting down the minutes until July 3 — that’s when Minutes to Midnight will unleash some different kinds of noisemakers. Uncork’d’s trailer is below.
What happens when a night of fun turns into a night of horror? Seven friends and a mysterious backpacker converge at a desolate ski lodge in the mountains and as the clock begins the countdown to the New Year, they discover that the end of the old year may be the end of all their years as they are systematically hunted down by ruthless masked men with a deadly agenda.
