Microsoft Suggests It’s Open To Making A Wii U Version Of Rare Replay
As far as video game “rivals” go, Microsoft and Nintendo have so far gotten along pretty nicely. Earlier this year, XBox boss Phil Spencer said he would be just fine with Banjo appearing as a fighter in Super Smash Bros. if Nintendo asked. (We’ll know in a couple days if they asked — Nintendo’s final Smash announcement video goes live on the 15th.)
Now comes this: MS was asked on their Twitter account if a version of Rare Replay could be sold for the Wii U. Their response was to simultaneously tweet Nintendo and Rare and suggest they set it up, if they wanted to do it.

Unfortunately Microsoft accidentally tagged “NinLendoAmerica,” so Nintendo might not have actually heard them. (It also didn’t take long for someone to actually make that account and use it to rally for the proposed port.) But it’s encouraging news!
Encouraging enough for Rare and Nintendo fans to begin bothering Rare employees past and present.

UPDATE: Rare responded early this morning to Microsoft’s tweet with a tweet of their own. Doesn’t sound like they’re interested in ever taking the compilation off its original console.
Lots of Qs about Wii U! But #RareReplay’s exclusive to Xbox One, and we’re hard at work on Sea of Thieves. Appreciate the enthusiasm though!
