Microsoft Announces Halo: Master Chief Collection
Microsoft announced Halo: Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One at its E3 press conference earlier today. Packed on one disc, the collection consists of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4. Each game will run at 60 frames per second with 1080p resolution. In addition, each game will run on its original engine. Six of Halo 2‘s multiplayer maps will be remade in HD as well as Halo 2‘s campaign. Similar to Halo: Combat Anniversary, players will be able to change to the HD version to the original version at the press of a button
Halo: Master Chief Collection will use a general UI system, meaning that you can select any campaign level or mode from any Halo game you wish. Multiplayer playlists will contain all maps from each game and will use dedicated servers. The collection will have a total of 4,000 achievements. spread across the four games. Lastly, the collection will contain access to the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta and Halo: Nightfall, an episodic series that leads up to the events of Halo 5: Guardians. Halo: Master Chief Collection is set to be released on November 11, the same day as Halo 2’s release date ten years ago.
