Metroid Dread, Finally! Samus is in a new Game that is not Smash!
Metroid Dread will be coming to Nintendo Twitch this October 8
Metroid Dread is the latest installment of the Metroid Franchise. After the successful remake of Metroid: Samus Returns the adventure continues with Nintendo Switch. Samus Aran is a pop culture phenomenon because she is the very first playable female videogame lead character. In the first game, they only revealed that Samus is female once you finished the game. There won’t be a Lara Croft or a Jill Valentine without a Samus Aran. She is the real first lady of Games.
Nintendo will stick with what works. Metroid Dread will stick with the 2d side-scrolling action-adventure formula. It will be the first new installment of the series that goes back to its roots. You cannot fix what is not broken. Metroid: Other M almost killed the franchise when they change the game into a story-driven 3rd person action shooter. Samus Aran’s portrayal on that game almost ruined the legacy of the franchise. Metroid Dread puts Samus in a new never before seen adventure at a planet called ZDR.
Stealth elements will be added as new features of the game. Samus will have new abilities like sliding to evade enemy attacks and speeding up her movements. She can also now turn into a ball so she can enter and pass small and tighter spaces.
If Jill Valentine had to deal with stalker enemies in Raccoon city, Samus has to deal with a stalker of her own. E.M.M.I am a machine that is resilient in killing Samus and its armor made it impossible to kill. Players have to deal with this stalker at some segments of the game. The word Dread in the title makes sense now because this game shifts into horror every time E.M.M.I am around to destroy Samus because this machine is an unstoppable force.
