Metal Slug Tactics Revealed For PC
When people see the name Metal Slug, they know what to expect: a fast-paced run-and-gun shooter with lots of tanks, artillery and explosions rendered in cartoony pixel art. But a new Slug from publisher Dotemu and developer Leikir Studio promises to flip the conventional experience on its head. In this new game, you don’t rush in blazing. You plan every move carefully. The Metal Slug characters are moving into the realm of strategy in Metal Slug Tactics.
Marco, Eri, Fio, and Tarma are back, and now they’re leading the Peregrine Falcon Squad into a complicated battle. The enemy is well-enforced and they’ll have to plot their every step from an overworld map. Area layouts will be randomized, assuring you won’t know what to expect and will have to come up with a new strategy every time. The visuals are the one thing that hasn’t changed…expect to see a lot of the series’ signature pixel art no matter where you go. The music in the game has been composed by Tee Lopes (Sonic Mania, League of Legends, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, and Streets of Rage 4’s Mr. X Nightmare DLC).
Metal Slug Tactics reunites Marco, Eri, Fio, and Tarma as they lead the Peregrine Falcon Squad into a new battlefield through dynamic, strategic combat. Players wield classic METAL SLUG weaponry, leveraging skill trees, perks, and a super attack-fueling adrenaline system to outwit and demolish flanks of the series’ signature villains.
Currently the plan at Dotemu is to release Metal Slug Tactics on PC through Steam later this year. There are no mentioned plans for a console version.
