Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain: New Gamescom Trailer Released
As previously reported, Konami was set to debut new footage, a demo and a new gameplay trailer for Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain at last week’s Gamescom 2015 event. The new trailer for the game, featuring new footage shown at Gamescom, has now been released online, and you can check out the official video in the player below.
The new trailer focuses on the game’s tactical and stealth gameplay for Big Boss, as well as the game going into an open-world sandbox format. The footage also offers a hint at the goal of the enigmatic villain, Skull Face. Dialogue reveals that he is looking to become a nuclear power. There are also some more shots of Big Boss’ horn growing larger. Hideo Kojima has hinted about the growing horn before on Twitter, so it likely plays into the plot somehow. Is the horn the reason that Big Boss grows insane and becomes an evil monster, leading to his conflicts with Solid Snake from the original video games? Granted, Big Boss has been through quite a lot, and it looks like the worst might still be yet to come.
Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain, which will mark the last game in the franchise developed by Hideo Kojimo, finally hits the shelves on September 1 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
