Actor Greg Grunberg stars in the fan passion project Max Reload And The Nether Blasters, coming to VOD platforms later this summer.
Fallout Games is your typical small-time independent retro game store in a strip mall. It lives or dies based on its stock. So when the store clerk gets his hands on one of the rarest cartridges of all time, the (fictional) Nether Dungeon for the ColecoVision, he’s over the moon. This will surely make them thousands! ….But he’s gotta play it first.
What he didn’t know was that there’s a reason just one copy of Nether Dungeon exists…the cart is cursed and haunted. Enemies from the game start attacking the strip mall and possessed people with glowing eyes begin showing up. The only thing that can stop them are the tools of the game — the zapper gun, mainly. Does the four-member staff of Fallout Games have what it takes to level up in the REAL world?
Max Reload And The Nether Blasters stars Tom Plumley, Greg Grunberg, Hassie Harrison, Joey Morgan, Martin Kove, Jesse Kove, Lin Shaye, Kevin Smith, Lukas Gage and Joseph Reitman. It was written and directed by Scott Conditt and Jeremy Tremp. Conditt and Tremp also served as producers alongside Jesse Lobell and Greg Grunberg.
This movie will somehow manage to pull together a select theatrical run in 2020, but you probably won’t see it there. If you can wait until August 11, it will become available on demand, and the Nether Monsters can invade your own living room.
In Max Reload And The Nether Blasters, a small town video game store clerk must go from zero to hero after accidentally unleashing the forces of evil from a cursed Colecovision game.
