Max Marks July 27 For Harley Quinn’s Return

It was quite a long wait between Seasons 2 and 3 for the animated Harley Quinn series. This was mainly due to the fact that at the time it was renewed, production had shut down entirely. Animated shows take a lot longer than live-action shows to make. This is typically buffered by multi-season or early renewals. The option for renewing a cartoon AFTER its latest season has appeared is always an option, but it’s not recommended, as by that point everyone involved will have moved on.

That was the scenario Harley Quinn was in when it was granted a Season 3 after the premiere of Season 2. It took 2 1/2 years to wind the machine back up again, but this time, WB was smart (for once) and greenlit a Season 4 mid-production, allowing it to be finished in a year’s time. Max mentioned earlier this month that it would appear “this summer” and now we have a definitive date: July 27. A trailer and screenshots should hopefully follow soon.

The last time we saw the clown girl and her plant-based beau, Harley had realized she was actually good and planned to join Batgirl fighting crime, but feared it would fray her relationship with Ivy. Ives said not to worry about it and that she would not let anything come between them. No word yet if something does.

There is also no word on if the crew is secretly working on a Season 5 right now (one would hope), but if we don’t get that, there is a spinoff waiting to premiere. “Kite Man: Hell Yeah!” is the name of the show, and it concerns the title character buying Noonan’s (the bar where heroes and villains hang out). Not much is known beyond that.
