Marvel’s The Defenders Wraps Production
Marvel’s The Defenders has wrapped its principal production in New York as it heads closer toward its ultimate release. It wraps on the same weekend that Marvel’s Iron Fist debuted on the Netflix streaming service. The makeup crew for the show commented on the show’s wrap party over the weekend on Instagram.
The Defenders does not yet have a launch date, but it’s expected to debut later this year. Since it is only an eight-episode miniseries, one would imagine it hits Netflix before The Punisher TV series, which is supposed to launch later this fall. The series will feature the stars of the last four Marvel Netflix show joining together to fight The Hand, who were featured adversaries throughout Daredevil and Iron Fist.
Marvel’s The Defenders premieres on Netflix later this year. The first two seasons of Daredevil, and the first seasons of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones, are also currently available on Netflix. A third season of Daredevil is expected to debut in 2018, along with new seasons of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones. It should be great to see how all these characters interact once they meet. Sigourney Weaver is set to appear in the show as the villain.
