Major Updates Have Come To 3DS StreetPass
Upon the release of two new games for Mii Plaza — Battleground Z, a zombie brawler, and Ultimate Angler, a fishing game — Nintendo has taken the opportunity to give the StreetPass features themselves a major overhaul. Half of it is free and the other half costs a one-time fee of five dollars…for some reason. Read on for the full list….
You can now hide the StreetPass games you’re not interested in Most of them you have to pay for in the first place; too bad you can’t just return or sell them.
StreetPass icons are now rearrangeable Just to make things a touch more convenient.
Word balloons can now be customized You can collect special themed word balloons in the games that your Mii uses to talk with, so he or she can say “Howdy sir!” to visitors in a bubble surrounded by palm trees and pirates.
Now for the “premium” functions. If you give Nintendo an electronic five-spot, these features will be opened….
You will have the option to listen to the Mii Plaza music even when your 3DS is closed. Okay, whatever.
You can “favorite” certain Miis you’ve tagged so that they aren’t deleted from your system over time. Wait, they do that?
You can start collecting the birthdays of those you tag. If you can collect all 366 possible dates, you’ll be awarded a boatload of tickets. “As many as in all the other games combined!” says the official notice.
Most importantly, you can shorten the interaction sequences with Miis you meet in the Plaza significantly Now it’s worth $5. Though if you haven’t bought Box Boy yet, spend the $5 on that first.
