LX 2048 Coming To Disc And Digital January 25
Dazzler Media will be releasing their new dystopian sci-fi tale LX 2048 on all current formats (DVD, Blu-Ray, digital) later this month.
As is standard with dystopian stories, it’s the future and the world is trashed. But the cited reason is a strange one: “the sun has become so toxic that people can no longer leave their houses in daytime.” The sun? That’s not possible. Do they actually mean “the environment has become so polluted that the atmosphere no longer protects the Earth from UV rays”? It’s the only thing that makes sense. The sun ITSELF can’t become more dangerous than it already is.
Anyway, thanks to…uh, the toxic sun, everyone has to live, communicate and do business in virtual worlds now. Our main character seeks a better future for his family, as he doesn’t have much of one. Stricken with a terminal illness, he’s on a quest to solve the question of what it means to be human in a cyberworld.
LX 2048 stars James D’Arcy (Dunkirk, Agent Carter), Anna Brewster (Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, Versaille), Gina McKee (Catherine the Great, Bodyguard) and Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods, The Good Fight). It was written and directed by Guy Moshe (Bunraku, Holly), and it’ll be hitting DVD, Blu-Ray and digital formats January 25.
In the near future, the sun has become so toxic that people can no longer leave their houses in daytime, and normal life is conducted mostly inside the virtual realm. Against this dystopian backdrop, a dying man seeks to ensure the future wellbeing of his family, while coping with what it means to be human in this new reality.
