Lego Dimensions Announced
Lego’s have never been more popular than now, especially with the help of properties like Ninjago and a little thing called The Lego Movie.
Now though, the property is getting even bigger, as the world of Lego is stepping into video games in a big way. Lego Dimensions follows in the path of Skylanders and Disney Infinity, where you take figures from your world and insert them into the game to do basically what you want.
Much like the other titles as well, this game will feature numerous worlds from the Lego universe, not unlike how The Lego Movie showed the various settings in one movie all stitched together.
“Now for the first time in a videogame, LEGO fans can play in the virtual world and in the real world – combining everything without restrictions,” says Jon Burton, Founder and Creative Director, TT Games. “Imagine putting LEGO Gollum from The Lord of the Rings behind the wheel of the LEGO Delorean in New Ninjago City – the creative play is endless.”
Endless indeed. But to further cement this as an epic adventure, they gave Lego Dimensions a pretty cool announcement video, one with plenty of characters (both real and Lego-ified) to show off just how much fun you’ll be having.
Lego Dimensions is scheduled for a September 29th release, with plenty of level packs and DLC to come for it.
