Fans of all ages can be excited for the upcoming Lego Batman film, as it shows off the version of the classic character that was “born” in The Lego Movie, and will once again be portrayed by Will Arnett. Lego Batman was indeed a breakout star in that film, so him getting his own solo movie wasn’t too surprising. And, early looks at the film seem to point to the movie being both hilarious, and full of jokes poking fun at Batman, his allies, and the DC Comics universe.
The director of Lego Batman, Chris McKay, has done a lot of TV work before as a part of the Adult Swim lineup on Cartoon Network. But this is something special for him, and for fans. And fans are letting him know they want more from him. Like what? Well, they’re game to see him helm one of the DC Comics Extended Universe films. To which he replied on Twitter stating:
“It’s a long shot but I’d like to be a part of it somehow. Thank you, btw”
Upon seeing that, fans started a petition to make this happen, to which McKay noted he was flattered, but he’d rather go and pitch himself to them in person and see what happens.
