Kojima Wanted Cliffy B. On Silent Hills?
Silent Hills may be one of the greatest gaming tragedies in recent memory, mainly because the title had so much going for it from the get go that almost everyone was excited about it. That was huge as the series had been waning in the eyes of many for so long. Behind the names of legends like HIdeo Kojima, Guillermo Del Toro, and headed up character wise by Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead, this seemed to be the game we’ve been waiting for.
Then it got cancelled due to Konami’s development shuffle, which broke many a gamer and critics’ hearts. However, despite this, we’re still getting interesting information about what Silent Hills could’ve been. Now, it appears that another legendary developer was asked to be on the project. Cliff Bleszinski, of Epic Games and Gears of War fame.
In a Tweet, Bleszinski stated, “Kojima once told me he wanted me to do a new Silent Hill w him together out of LA,” Bleszinski wrote on Twitter. “I was flattered but declined.”
He went on to note why this didn’t happen. “I don’t like LA, I love new IP, and I woulda f**ked up SH,” he wrote.
What could’ve been, right?
