Kaguya-sama: Love Is War The Movie To Get US Valentine’s Release
Crunchyroll and Aniplex of America are teaming up to provide the ultimate attraction for anime-lover couples this Valentine’s Day: the US premiere of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War The Movie (official title: Kaguya-sama: Love Is War -The First Kiss That Never Ends). This will be a theatrical premiere, screened over two days. The movie is a continuation of the rom-com anime Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, which has gone on for three seasons so far.
Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane are the two smartest students at Shuchiin Academy. Everyone thinks they should pair up — except Kaguya and Miyuki. Oh, they’re into each other, but they assume the other isn’t. This leads to elaborate schemes on their friends’ part to bring them together, most of which don’t work. It takes nearly the entire run to date for Kaguya and Miyuki to get to the point where they kiss. Thus the subtitle of this film, which takes things from there.
But if you think they’re finally going to admit it now that their lips have made contact, think again. Official description: “After a long battle in love, these two geniuses communicated their feelings and, at the Hoshin Festival, had their very first kiss. However, there was no clear confession of love. The relationship between these two, who assumed they would be a couple, remains ambiguous. Now, overly conscious of their feelings, they must face the biggest challenge yet: Christmas. It’s Shirogane who wants it to be perfect versus Kaguya who pursues the imperfect situation. This is the very “normal” love story of two geniuses and the first kiss that never ends.”
You’ll have to check your local listings for where it is playing nearest you, but this Fandango link should help. Tickets can be preordered now.
