Jungle Cruise sequel confirmed to be in development
Jungle Cruise is going to have a sequel because Disney considered it a success. The film have a budget of $200 and it only made $186,992,318 since it debut this July. Before the new normal, this could be considered a flop but not with the Pandemic. The movie is set to break even in the next few weeks and it will make more money as a rental in Disney Plus.
The movie will have a longer time in the Theaters and it will eventually make money from Disney Plus. Not bad for a movie based on a Carnival Ride. Jungle Cruise is not based on comics, books, or a videogame. It is based on one of the Rides of Disneyland. Pirates of the Caribbean and Tomorrowland are some of Disney rides that were adapted into films. Pirates of the Caribbean became a massive franchise with multiple sequels. During its Prime Pirates of the Caribbean made Johnny Depp the highest-paid actor. It also made stars out of Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly.
Meanwhile, Tomorrowland failed because of bad marketing and timing. It did have a cult following. Now Jungle Cruise has the potential to become a cinematic franchise.

This confirmation confirms a sequel and Frank Wolff who is played by Johnson will be the first character to return. Emily Blunt is undergoing negotiations so she can reprise of Dr. Lily Houghton. I believe the movie is successful enough for her to return. There are rumors that the ride It’s a small world will be the next ride to become a movie.
