Julie and the Phantoms got cancelled and fans are livid!
Julie and the Phantoms is one of the hits of Netflix during the Pandemic of 2020. Usually when Netflix cancels shows they announce it within a month or two. When Netflix stayed quiet about a show for a year it is renewed and under negotiation. So this show was almost renewed but negotiations didn’t fall through. This Musical series was created by Kenny Ortega, The man behind the success of the High School Musical.
It got an 8.5 rating in IMDB so that means the show is beloved by its fanbase.
It won some Awards but that is not enough to save it.

Julie and the Phantoms is about a 90s rock band that died before getting their big break of performing at the Orpheum. 25 years after their death their ghost met Julie, a teenage girl with singing talent like no other. The Band discovered they become visible whenever they perform with Julie, Hence they became a band named Julie and the Phantoms. Fans waited for a whole year for the show to get renewed but only to be disappointed for a cancelation.
Most likely the cancellation may have something to do with the Pandemic. The show requires musical numbers with lots of extras. Especially the performances in front of a crowd. The Hit Series Glow was canceled days after filming episodes for the 4th season because social distancing is impossible with the concept of the show.
Fans opened a petition to save the show and it garnered 120 thousand supporters in a span of 24 hours.
Netflix listened to a Petition of fans once. When Netflix Cancelled Sense8, Outcry of the fans leads to the creation of a 2-hour movie that servers as the final season of the show.

Meanwhile Critically panned Emily in Paris is renewed for a 2nd season.
@netflix you renewed “Emily in Paris” but you canceled “Julie and the Phantoms”??? Y’all WRONG for that.
