As of this week, Funimation has a new attraction: the hit Japanese anime Jujutsu Kaisen, based on the Shonen Jump manga of the same title (sold by Viz in these parts). If you’ve never heard of it, here’s what you need to know…
The series is about Yuji Itadori, a high school student who excels in athletic activities and is otherwise normal….at first. But one day he finds himself catapulted into the world of the supernatural when he has to save his friend from a deadly curse. The only way to cure the boy is to eat a cursed object called “Sukuna’s Finger,” which just means that HE gets a curse instead. He’s now got a powerful spirit sharing his body, and though that means he gets to access the spirit’s powers, it also means he’s going to have to leave his place of education and instead hit the books at Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, which specializes in training folks under a situation like his. (Did that friend ever say thank you?)
“We know Funimation fans will be excited to explore the world JUJUTSU KAISEN,” says Asa Suehira, Chief Content Officer for Funimation Global Group. “The narrative, animation and characters of JUJUTSU KAISEN all make up a masterful tapestry of storytelling.”

As you know, the iconic anime Cowboy Bebop is getting a live-action adaption from Netflix next month. We don’t know yet what the series is like, but even if it stinks, it’ll increase awareness of the original. Funimation currently has it and they’ve announced a slew of new products and
