Jeff Goldblum Was Almost In A Different Marvel Film
Since the very beginning, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been casting A-list stars from all over the spectrum. From Jeff Bridges to Robert Redford to the upcoming Michelle Pfeiffer, they have had some amazing actors and actresses plays some interesting roles. And with the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, that will continue with the arrival of Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster.
But, it may surprise you to know that Jeff Goldblum was almost cast in a much smaller role…in Captain America: The First Avenger. This comes from Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, who noted that thankfully, lack of interest in a smaller role really worked out for them. For he told Uproxx:
“And we had come close. I mean, I’ll tell you, I think we spoke to him or offered him a role in Captain America: The First Avenger. I think the role of the senator that was part of that USO tour in the first Captain America film. And he either wasn’t available or wasn’t interested or whatever. And thank goodness, because that would have just been a small thing and instead we got to wait for the Grandmaster, which is about as amazing as a Jeff Goldblum ‘Goldblum-iness’ could be.”
Thor: Ragnarok (with Jeff Goldblum!) arrives November 3rd.
