Of the two DC Comics movies coming out this year, Suicide Squad is arguably just as important, and just as hyped, as Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Mainly because this is such an odd movie, based on a comic book concept not everyone may be familiar with.
Also though, this features the live-action debuts of many villains, including fan favorites Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and Harley Quinn. Just to name a few. The big villain that will appear in the movie though is Jared Leto as the Joker. This will be the third movie appearance for the character, but many are noting just how different Let’s version of the Joker is. From his appearance, to his personality, this is a Joker maybe in line more with the comics than people are even thinking.
During a talk with Total Film, Suicide Squad director David Ayer talked about just how incredible Leto is as the Joker:
“What Jared has done is absolutely incredible. When he steps onto the set the world stops. Everything stops. What he’s done is so powerful, so menacing, so palpable, you can feel him. The crew stops working and just watches him. I have to get everybody going again because he’s so fascinating.”
We’ll find out whether this is true or not when Suicide Squad arrives August 8th.
