A special Japanese Nintendo Direct was held early this morning, and though very few things were confirmed to be coming west, or dated for the west, it’s important to note some of the reveals as they’ll no doubt be considered coming our way. You can watch the video of the full Nintendo Direct in the player below.
First off, Yoshi’s Woolly World will be coming to Japan on July 16th. It’s possible we could get a western release date at E3. Also, the developers revealed that there will be 50 different kinds of Yoshi in the game for you to play as.
Next, in a game that will assuredly come to the west, Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games was announced. The latest in the now franchise pits the famous casts of the Mario and Sonic series against each other in Olympic games.
Bandai Namco released a smaller teaser for the upcoming Wii U exclusive Project Treasure. We still don’t know much, but the teaser could be just the start of information to come as E3 draws closer.
The next wave of Amiibo’s were dated for Japan (translation via IGN) Wave 6 of the Super Smash Bros. Amiibo’s include Bowser Jr., Dr. Mario, and Captain Olimar from Pikmin. They’ll come to Japan on July 30th, no doubt the rest of the world won’t be far behind. Let’s hope they keep them in stock this go round huh?
Finally, in a big surprise, Nintendo announced a new Chibi Robo game, along with an Amiibo figure for the character. This new title will feature a more platformer aspect apparently, as Chibi Robo will use its plug to rope enemies and bring items closer to it.
Though it may not have had any western release dates, these reveals do shine a light on what might just be to come. With E3 on the way, more is about to be revealed!
