It’s Happening: Teen Titans Go Vs. Teen Titans
Those who paid a ticket for Teen Titans Go To The Movies last year got a mid-credits surprise when the OG Teen Titans, with their 2003 designs, popped up in some kind of blurry transmission, stating they were “still out there.” It sparked an immediate rumor that the long-demanded sixth season of the series could actually be in the works…but that wasn’t the case.
The appearance was actually a nod toward the direct-to-video feature Teen Titans Go Vs. Teen Titans, officially unveiled today with a two-minute trailer. For unclear reasons, the Go versions of the Titans are forced into a multidimensional gladiator’s arena, where their opponents turn out to be, in Robin’s words, “the serious versions of us!”
They’ll have to learn to work together to defeat the larger threat facing them both, but they often have trouble just working together on their own. The cast of Scott Menville, Tara Strong, Hynden Walch and the rest will perform in dual roles, and so will Weird Al Yankovic, for the returning Darkseid as well as Gentleman Ghost.
In Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans, the comedic modern-day quintet takes on their 2003 counterparts when villains from each of their worlds join forces to pit the two Titan teams against each other. They’ll need to set aside their differences and work together to combat Trigon, Hexagon, Santa Claus (that’s right, Santa!) and time itself in order to save the universe.
If you’ve been watching Teen Titans Go, you know the revelation that Santa was behind this isn’t much of a surprise….Jolly Old Saint Nick is one of their worst enemies. Teen Titans Go Vs. Teen Titans will be out later this year from WB.
