It’s About Time Legends Of Tomorrow Got Somebody Named “Spooner”
DC conducted the second half of its FanDome event last weekend, and we learned a lot about what Legends of Tomorrow will look like in its upcoming sixth season. Things are going to be different on the Waverider without its captain!
No, don’t panic — Caity Lotz isn’t leaving the series. We know this show drops and picks up actors all the time (Brandon Routh, Courtney Ford and Maisie Richardson-Sellers left last season), but it’s a different scenario for Sara Lance. She’s been abducted by aliens! Why was she taken, and who are they? Nobody knows right now, including the Legends themselves.
What they need is an expert. Enter the “Spooner” we were talking about in the headline. Her full name is Esperanza Cruz, she’s played by Lisseth Chavez (Chicago PD), and her official description is as follows:
Tough and self-sufficient, Spooner Cruz lives off the grid, devising ingenious tech for the detection of — and defense against — space aliens. And while some might call her paranoid, she calls it being prepared. A survivor of a childhood alien encounter, Spooner now believes she has the ability to communicate telepathically with aliens — making her the perfect recruit for Waverider captains Sara Lance, Ava Sharpe and the Legends who, in Season 6, will be hunting down extraterrestrials who have been displaced throughout history. Having spent last season tracking down the Loom of Fate in order to bring back their slain comrades, the Legends must now save history from a foe like none they have ever encountered in the past or future…space aliens! After Sara is abducted by a ruthless alien, this new mission becomes personal. It will take more than the combined powers of the Legends to save the world for a sixth time. They must recruit a new Legend: Spooner Cruz, a woman uniquely qualified to help the team defeat their intergalactic foes. Either that or she’s just crazy…
Got all that? Legends of Tomorrow will return at an undisclosed unknown period of time in 2021 on The CW.
