Here’s What You’re In For On Tonight’s Teenage Euthanasia
Once upon a time there was a Florida teenager named Trophy Fantasy who lived with her parents, Baba and Pete, in a funeral home called Tender Endings. After becoming pregnant, Trophy ran away and left the baby to be cared for by Baba and Pete. She would eventually turn up again, but as the latest stiff to be embalmed.
Her daughter Annie (birth name Euthansia — everyone on this show has a weird name except for Pete) was a teenager herself at this point and was very upset at this discovery, but a little homemade embalming fluid combined with her own tears managed to reanimate Trophy — and then some. Thus launches the premise for Adult Swim’s latest animated dark comedy, Teenage Euthanasia.
Now a flying zombie with supernatural powers, Trophy is determined to make up for lost time with the daughter she never knew. Two problems complicate that: one, she has no idea how to do this, and two, she’s incredibly selfish and rude to the point that Rick Sanchez himself might tell her “tone it down a bit, we get it.”
On tonight’s episode, Annie is on a field trip watching birds with her classmates. Trophy insisted on coming along but is now bored out of her mind and would now rather be anywhere else. She thinks she can pull a fast one by using her “dead mama powers” to swap souls with one of the stiffs in the family basement. If the previous three episodes are any indication, expect things to go wrong from here, with lots of jabs at Florida culture being made in the process.
Teenage Euthanasia airs new episodes Sunday nights at midnight on Adult Swim.
