The story sounds similar to those of individuals who got out of these kind of groups. Once you mentioned that she found refuge in a commune I knew what to expect. It all begins with the charismatic leader and the love bombing from the members then the madness kicks in. These stories keep you on the edge whether as thrillers or as real life documentaries. This one has the same feel as Midsommar.
