Hardspace: Shipbreaker Announced By Focus Home
Focus Home Interactive, the publishers of The Surge 2, Curse of the Dead Gods and other titles, is about to reveal their next one — a sandbox space sim called Hardspace: Shipbreaker, developed by Blackbird Interactive.
The title is literal: you’re a salvager in space, which means you break ships. Demolish derelict spacecraft piece by piece, and turn in the scraps for major cash. That’s the basics, and when the game launches in Early Access form it will indeed be basic, but more will be added on a regular basis. The first act of the story campaign and two classes of spaceships will be active on launch. More spaceship classes, missions, challenges and more are on the way — and so is mod support.
Hardspace: Shipbreaker hits Steam Early Access this summer, but if you want to see more than just the trailer below, tune in to Focus Home’s Twitch page tomorrow, February 20, at 11 AM Eastern / 8 AM Pacific. If you see this too late and miss the stream, check the page’s archive — or check out the game itself at PAX East starting February 27. The game will be shown off at two different locations: Focus Home’s booth (#29017) and Blackbird Interactive’s booth (#28071).
