Halo: The Master Chief Collection updates coming soon
343 Studios is due to release a matchmaking update to fix problems with the online multiplayer component of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The update will not require players to download a patch, with the official Halo site pointing out that the changes will be made directly to their servers. According to executive producer Dan Ayoub, 343 Studios has received a number of complaints about different issues but are focusing on fixing the matchmaking issues as the number one priority so that players can get online and jump into the action.
The developer is also planning to release another update over the weekend which will address other issues with the game, including some small bugs and achievements not unlocking when they should. Ayoub also made it clear that they want players to keep sending in feedback, saying: “Your feedback has been helpful for us in isolating issues, so please keep the input coming.”
“A game as large as Halo: The Master Chief Collection has a massive surface area, and while we made every effort to have the best launch possible for our fans, issues surfaced with launch and we’re committed to improving this as fast as possible and get you all into matches. We’re committed to improving things as fast as possible so you can have the Halo experience you’ve been waiting for.”
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a bundle of all the Halo games that feature Master Chief as the primary protagonist. This means that for the first time players can play Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 in one collection all from the same disc. As well as including the vanilla games as they were originally released both Halo: CE and Halo 2 have been given ‘Anniversary’ makeovers while Halo 3 and 4 have had slight graphical improvements and a boost in frame rate to 60 fps.
