Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 To Potentially Expand Marvel Cosmic Universe
What’s so interesting about Guardians of the Galaxy as a film series is that though it takes part in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s very much an extension of it. Meaning, that it’s not a part of the Earth stories more times than not. In fact, if it wasn’t for Thanos, there’d almost be no connection at all. In the comics, the Cosmic Universe as it’s called is filled with its own stories and characters that are just as diverse as the ones on Earth.
With the conclusion of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 already hinting at future tales in the Cosmic Universe, fans are wondering whether the already confirmed Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will do the same. Director James Gunn was asked this by IGN and gave a very positive answer:
““We talk about it all the time. It’s already a part of what I’m doing with Marvel and the conversations that Kevin and I have every day. When we’re talking about Guardians of the Galaxy 3, and that story, that’s a story that will lead to other stories. It’s innate to the DNA that that’s the end of a trilogy but it’s the beginning of a whole other element of the Marvel Cosmic universe. That’s a part of what I’m doing now.””
Already we got confirmation of Adam Warlock, the Nova Corps is out there, and the original Guardians of the Galaxy are back too. So who knows where this could go given the right time and money and permission.
