Gorillaz will have a Netflix animated movie
Gorillaz had been around since the early 2000s. I remember jamming to “Clint Eastwood” as a kid and I thought the vocalist who voices 2-D sounds familiar. This Virtual Band started as a side project for Blur Vocalist, Damon Albarn. This virtual band had been through changes throughout the years. Some of those changes are Noodle becoming a full-grown woman and Ace, the former Powerpuff girls villain being a temporary replacement for Murdoc. This Band even performed live as Holograms with Madonna.
Gorillaz now celebrating its 20 years as a band!
When this band started, Noodle is just a 10-year-old girl and now she is a fully grown woman. Her Bandmates may not be the ideal father figures but she turned out fine. The Bandages simultaneously with the real world. Usually, it will sound smarter to put them in a floating timeline so they won’t change but they age in real-time.

So what is a great way to celebrate 2 decades as a virtual band? Damon Albarn just confirmed in an interview with Apple Music that Gorillaz will be making a movie with Netflix. We can now explore the lore of this animated band beyond their music videos and comic book adaptations. Fans had been wanting a full-length film with this band and it is now happening. I wonder if their older music will be featured or the film will be a promotion for new songs. They are not like Ash Ketchum who has been 12 years old for decades.
According to Albarn, the team behind the film are in the process of writing the movie. They almost got a movie deal with Dreamworks before but It was deemed too dark so the project got canceled. Netflix is not Afraid to accept dark projects. So that makes this movie perfect for the streaming platform.
