God of War 3 Getting PlayStation 4 Remaster Treatment
Kratos and the hit PlayStation 3 games are getting a new fresh coat of paint for the PlayStation 4. Sony PlayStation has announced God of War 3 Remastered for the PlayStation, which is due out this summer. You can check out the announcement trailer for the new edition for God of War 3 below.
The remastered version of the game is being done in commemoration of the 10th anniversary for the franchise. According to Sony Computer Entertainment’s announcement, the update for God of War 3 is targeting 1080p and 60fps, similar to the PlayStation 4 remastered version of The Last of Us. The game featured Kratos on the hunt against the Gods of Olympus who betrayed him, attacking their kingdom head on. However, the announcement did say that the game is “targeting” 60fps, so it is far from confirmed.
The God of War franchise has been dormant since the release of the prequel, God of War: Ascension, set before the events of the first game. At PlayStation Experience 2014 (via Polygon), Cory Barlog said that a new God of War game is in the works and that it was not a prequel God of War 3 Remastered will be released on the PlayStation 4 on July 14.
