Giant Bomb co-founder Ryan Davis passes away at 34
Ryan Davis, former GameSpot editor and co-founder of Giant Bomb, passed away on July 3rd. He was 34 years of age.
News of Davis’ death was reported by Giant Bomb, where he served as an editor since the site started in 2008. At this point in time, the cause of death is still unknown.
Before Giant Bomb, Davis spent 8 years with GameSpot hosting shows such as the then popular On The Spot. He left GameSpot in 2007 and founded Giant Bomb with Jeff Gertsmann the following year.
Davis was also the host of one of the web’s most popular video game podcast, the Giant Bombcast. He and the team at Giant Bomb also recently rejoined their former colleagues at GameSpot when CBS Interactive, parent company of GameSpot, acquired Giant Bomb.
Ryan Davis was recently married, at the end of June.
While I’ve never met Ryan Davis, I’ve always enjoyed his content and have much respect for him and the entire Giant Bomb team. We here at TheParanoidGamer would like to extend our condolences to his friends and family as well as the Giant Bomb community in the face of this awful tragedy.
