I remember the violent reactions of the fans for Its trailer that it was the most disliked video of 2016. Some criticisms were justified while others are borderline offensive. Unlike the hostile reactions the reboot got, this one has a mostly optimistic response.
It will be the continuation of Ghostbusters 2 and Ghost Busters the videogame. Ghostbusters: Afterlife will follow the original timeline because of fan demand. It will ignore the existence of the controversial 2016 reboot. Ghostbusters (2016 film). Jason Reitman who is the son of the original director and he said he is making this for the fans. Before the development of this film, Harold Ramis who played Egon Spengler passed away so his character won’t be in this movie. He will be replaced by Carrie Coon[ who will play the role of his daughter Callie. Egon Already passed away on this storyline just like his real-life actor. Harold Ramis will appear as flashbacks and pictures.
Callie moves to a farmhouse with her son, Trevor (Finn Wolfhard), and her daughter, Phoebe(Mckenna Grace). Trevor and Phoebe will discover that their grandfather was a Ghostbuster. A series of paranormal events will shake up their new town and the Ghostbusters will be the only one to stop it. Callie’s children and some friends will be the newest generation of Ghostbusters.
Dr. Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Dr. Raymond “Ray” Stantz(Dan Aykroyd ) Dr. Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson), and Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) will return from the original cast as trainers for the new generation of Ghostbusters. Unlike the original and the reboot, this Ghostbusters team will be a diverse co-ed group.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife will be released this November 11, 2021, in theaters and it will be in real 3d.
