Geoff Johns Offers Refund For DC Universe Rebirth
Today is an important day in DC Comics history. As the universe will be remade in a way via the DC Universe Rebirth #1 issue. This “remaking” of the universe is meant to give back the light, hope, and legacy that the DC Universe has been known for, but has been criticized for lacking during the last four years via the New 52 era.
The issue is written by DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, who is so confident that people will like it, he told ComicBook.com that if they don’t, he’ll give them a refund.
“It’s $2.99 for 80 pages. It’s not a lot,” Johns told Comicbook.com in an interview in New York. “If anyone wants to check out comics, wants to check out DC Universe Rebirth #1 and doesn’t like it, they can mail [the comicbook] to Warner Bros., to me, and I will send them a check, I literally will, for both postage and for the book. I will buy all these books back because I believe in this issue a lot. I think it’ll do very well. I hope it does well. But I seriously will, I’ll buy back this book.”
He also notes how he wouldn’t have written this book if he didn’t have passion for the characters:
“The only reason I write these characters is because I love them.”
