Gears of War 4: The Saga Continues in "Tomorrow"
Xbox released the latest teaser trailer for Gears of War 4 that reveals some new details and story developments for the game. You can check out the new video, “Tomorrow,” below. Some might be amused that the soundtrack features a cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” by Disturbed. The original song was a major part of the ad campaign for the first game about 10 years ago.
Xbox has confirmed that Gears of War 4 is set 25 years after the third game. In addition, players will take the role of JD Fenix, the son of Marcus Fenix, the protagonist from Gears of War 1-3. Not only that, his monther is clearly Anya Stroud. So it looks like they settled down and started a family after the events of Gears of War 4. But now JD Fenix has to embrace his father’s legacy to face a terrible, new enemy. In addition, after narrowly escaping an attack on their village, JD Fenix and his friends Kait and Del go on a mission to rescue their loved ones and discover this new threat.
Gears of War 4 launches on March 11. The game will be available exclusively for Xbox One. The multiplayer beta is set to launch later this month, with “early access” kicking off on April 18 for players who purchased Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. The beta session runs until May 1.
