Funimation Rolls Out Updated App For Playstation
The Funimation app is the only app of its kind for gaming platforms (meaning it’s the only one dedicated to anime). Its navigation menus work well on dedicated streaming devices like Roku, but can be clumsy to work with on consoles like Playstation 4. Funimation has been listening to users’ comments, and as of today is rolling out an updated version of its app for Playstation consoles (yes, 5 is included too).
The new app design contains a brand-new look and feel, all-new curations, a “My Anime” page, and a handy anime launch schedule.
Recently Funimation announced an expansion of its streaming catalog on the channel. As of last week, the library now includes hundreds of Bleach episodes (the US gets episodes 1-109 while Canadians get episodes 1-209), the first three seasons of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Mazinger Z, Infini-T Force, Naruto Shippuden the Movie: The Lost Tower, Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Blood Prison, Naruto the Movie: Road to Ninja, The Last: Naruto the Movie, Hunter x Hunter: Phantom Rouge, Accel World, Accel World: Infinite Burst, Vampire Knight, and Vampire Knight: Guilty. This is in addition to popular titles like My Hero Academia, One Piece, Naruto, Megalobox, Cowboy Bebop and many, many others.
Check out the revamped Funimation app on Playstation 4 and 5 today. Here’s a video preview so you don’t have to get up and turn it on right now…
