The academy now stated that they have launched an investigation and will explore further actions. It's amazing how Chris Rock maintained his composure and proceeded, even making joke of himself being slapped. Maybe the show wouldn't go on if he had hit back.

There is no debating this, Personally, I didn't think Chris Rock's joke was really all that offensive. But I think Will Smith's reaction and what he did … OFFENDED EVERY INDIVIDUAL WHO WAS NOMINATED AND/OR WHO RECEIVED AN ACADEMY AWARD THAT NIGHT.
