What Do You Think Of Plants VS. Zombies 2?

I haven't finished Plants VS. Zombies 2 yet but so far it has been really entertaining. I am enjoying most of the new zombies and the new plants. Unfortunately, the other plants have to be bought. I am trying to finish the game without buying any new plants to see if this is possible. It would be great if you could share your insights as well as tell me something about the later levels. I have just started the Pirate's Ship.
