I wrote this huge post for skynight but then I realized it was pointless as I still had 1/3 of the post to go through and he kept going on in circles.

Anyways I'll just summarize it in a sentence or two instead. Skynight you are obviously only seeing things through your rose tainted nostalgia glasses. You assume a bunch of stuff in your posts, that I love anime apparently even if I've never mentioned it once and that I only watch the shows with a close mind because apparently I'm too stupid to get the deep meanings in the shows you like.

I like animation, I don't care WHEN its from or WHERE its from as long as it has some value of entertainment for me. I like discovering shows, new or old so I watch series that seem interesting to me. I don't watch shows with the intent of not liking them and the more shows I like the better But hey if you think the 80s were great and nothing is better because you grew up with them more power to you but that doesn't make it true.

-sdp, I honestly feel sorry for you. And not just because you haven't given one single, solid base for your argument (such as it is), but because your point of view on this subject's led you to over-analyze why some of us still love our classic cartoons. The concept and value of nostalgia is clearly lost on you.

Unless you can be a little more objective, kindly take the dark cloud you've brought over this thread elsewhere.

umm what?

you're being a little melodramatic there buddy.

and btw I love nostalgia, more than any healthy person should actually.

Yeah it does make it true. It makes it true to the person that believes that. Who are you to say what makes something true or false for anyone else?

You love nostalgia? could have fooled me.

Can I say that Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors is the greatest animated series ever? Maybe nostalgia is making me biased, but up through the late 80's there was more freedom given to a show's writers to do whatever they wanted with creations had never been heard of at the time. And they were harder to make without computers, so a lot more care went into creating them. I've only seen a few domestic, straightup action cartoons that aren't based off a pre-existing idea recently. The ones that do exist are really good, but I think there could be more if it weren't for that law that prohibits toy companies from making their own shows. Unless it's imported, of course.

My nostalgia doesn't stem from the shows themselves but from what I was doing or did while watching or going to watch these shows. Like on Saturdays, I had to wake up early to watch a certain show. Made my own breakfast and everything, too. Then on weekdays, I would rush home really fast after school so I wouldn't miss said show. That's what made it nostalgic for me.

First of all, SDP, YOU were the one going around in circles by saying nothung but "terrible" and "certain shows were easily superior", without giving concrete answers, obviously you proved INCAPABLE of it

I've always wondered why so many cylons on the camp of the nostalgia assasins have used that terminology...now I know why. Massive insecurity brought on by a grey viewpoint of the world, when in truth, "rose-tinted glasses" gives US the superior edge over them and there's nothing they can do about it but wax the body jealous.

No pal, I'm more insightful into these shows than you are, nothing else, YOU are the one that won't look deep enough.

You are doing nothing but proving me right that you are a cliche of the internet whose sole purpose is to repeat what other non-objective plebs have said to people like me and others for well over ten years, it's OLD SDP, give it up, did it ever fucking occur to your dull brain that rose-tinted glasses ARE NOT A BAD THING?

The truth is, I'm not a sheep to your system, the one that locks you into a certain way of life that demands you criticise, I will ALWAYS appreciate any type of meta pphilsophical idea that has a deeper meaning and message, or shows there's more than one way to the limitless of life, rather than turn away from it, because unlike you, I love it

But if you're content to live a boring, 3-dimensional "real" life, go ahead, criticise me, but you know what? There's nothing wrong with having rose-tinted glasses, especially since my wife and kids share them, and when something THAT real shares them, you're damn fucking RIGHT my mentality is TRUE

"Jayce" was story-edited by J.Micheal Strazynski (he got around quite a bit in syndication), he also wrote the script for the movie, but it was never made because the toyline bombed

It had not one badass theme song, but TWO

Now, if SDP can do us all a favour of kindly getting the frack out of my thread until he learns ALL beleifs are as true as the other (we're all one race, it is ONLY wars, colour, politics, and ego that make us different from the other), I'll share some of my top three Visionary episodes, quite relevant today since I've talked to some people who are tapping into aspects of their psyche, which is indeed what the creators of Visonaries were doing at the time to make a buck in an intellectual. New Age way

1. "Sorcery Squared"

Basicly, I think the only reason people slam the 80s is because there...NICE
