Despite Duncan not being the fighter that the undertakers, dhamphir, soldier or mourner proved that he could still do some damage as the bull pierced the animate's knee, shattering it and causing the animate to collapse where it stood. Unable to get back up the animate used it's hands to drag itself around on the ground, still following the ever present need to feed.

This time the mourner's attack managed to show just why she was likely to be hired by the wealthy denizens of this neighborhood to watch their dead. With a single quick, clean and smooth strike the exculpus passed through the animate's neck. After a quick poke to the chest the animate's head fell forward and the body fell backwards.

It seemed all sorts of luck surrounded the female undertaker today, for the animates it seemed to be the worst luck possible, but for her and her trigger finger it seemed to be a whole different story. Not even aiming, not even knowing if the gun was actually aiming at an animate or rubble, the bullet rocketed from the gun and right through the skull of the animate she was facing, killing it before it had a chance to get up. The impact from the shot then caused a piece of rubble to roll over and crush the head of the helpless animate.
"Hell of a nice shot." Victor said, having seen the female undertaker managed to make a double kill with a single shot, even if it were 90% luck it was still something worth a remark.
[HIDE]Animates 10,3, and 9 are dead, 12 is incapacitated.[/HIDE]
From the looks of things the fight was all but won, all that was left was to take out that last animate and then hopefully get some answers from whoever sent that letter. At least it seemed that way at first, with the fight dying down and the sounds of frantic gunfire, slicing and smashing beginning to fade a groan could be heard from further into the pit. More animates? No, if there were more than one were down there it would be apparently from the get go. It was just one animate, perhaps a straggler bound to walk into the path of someone's gun.
Victor raised a hand, as if to tell the others to stay quiet while he attempted to listen. He was only human after all, his senses could only do so much. He could hear something pounding on the ground in addition to the groans. "Footsteps, big ones." he said "And getting closer." he said as the sounds did indeed seemed to be getting closer.
Suddenly the stomping stopped, with with a horrifying roar something jumped from the pit and up on to the ground level that the fight had been happening, landing on the last living animate and crushing it. This new animate, assuming it could be considered one, was much larger than the one they had fought, roughly twice as tall and bulky as the rest, bearing stitches on various parts of it's body, suggesting that it had been put together rather than just dieing and getting back up. Saying that this wasn't an ordinary animate was like saying the mourner's dog was a little bigger than most.

The large animate looked around for a moment, before spotting a downed light pole, moving to it and picking it up. Quickly it whipped around to face Nathaniel before raising it up and slamming it down in his direction.

Most would be focused on avoiding this things attacks, and rightly so. But those who were more familiar with animates, and fought them often would catch on to something else about it, that was more unusual than its size. Animates ere simple creatures of instinct, capable of little more than walking, grappling and biting. Never in recorded history though had an animate picked up and used any sort of weapon though.
