yeah, I felt like his movements and the 'elemental bending' were two separate entities on the screen. Two films, over laid together. they didnt feel as though they were synchronized.

thats me though. I cant wait for the movie.

That's the biggest problem the movie has to overcome. Like Konietzko explained a lot in the episode commentaries, they tried to make the bending feel like an extension of the martial arts moves in the series. Plus, in animation they made the posing and timing a lot more dynamic than you could probably achieve in live action.

Aang kind of feels too 'floaty' in the 'courtyard' clip. Like his movements have no weight. Just all wire-suspension.
Airbending? Airbending. Let's just say he was airbending himself around. Maybe?

This will prove very interesting going from animated to Live action. The one thing we cannot forget is that the clips are in a much smaller size than it will be in theaters. The loss of detail of the moves in that small space does make the bending look off , but if you look closer the moves do sync. The timing and posing could be done like in the show , but it would be difficult to say the least. For all we know , the bending effects could look much more impressive on the bigger screen (like the show)than the small window you are limited to on that site.

Just click to fullscreen mode. It looks much better with a bigger window but you really have to pay attention to the moves Aang does however slight they may be , and you will be fine.

Definitely, i'm still reserving my judgment till after i've seen the entire thing on the big screen. It's hard not to get excited. I've been reading and re-reading the Art Of book I got in the mail the other day, which is only making me more impatient.

I agree Bigdog, it did look a lot better in fullscreen than in regular view.

As I am aspiring to get in the film industry as well as TV as a conceptual artist and director/writer, i have trained my eyes over the years to pick out the most details and video resolutions, not to brag or anything.

The smaller window makes it very difficult to pick the slightest details along with the crappy quality ,but if you make it bigger and make it HD like a modern film print ,you will be able to see many more movements and thus the bending sequences will make sense now.

The only problem is that you would only be able to see it on an iPad in order for the action sequences to look convincing because the larger screen will make it better. An iPod Touch might be good for it ,but the video window would make it awkward unless you overlook it.

I plan on getting the Art Book since I've been a huge fan of the franchise since it's heyday. It's the best modern animated American shows out besides Ben 10 , Spiderman 2008, Wolverine , TFormers:Animated and Teen Titans.

Get the prequel manga . It's good stuff. Get it at Barnes And Noble or where books are sold. Also get the film manga.

the 'end' of that clip is what I have a problem with. Aang goes from standing to just floating upward and flipping. He doesnt 'jump'. Aang is suddenly lifted upward unnaturally.

Well, if you pay close attention in the show, he pretty much does the same when he "jumps." It's almost as if he uses the wind to kind of gracefully leap.

I couldn't have said it better. He's an airbender , it should look unnatural to us since we are not from that world.

Nice tv spot. How many will come out until we could just piece the whole film together just from them?

I love the new tv spot, especially when they over-emphasize 'IN 3-D!' and Aang screams 'Noooooo!' I understand his pain.
