This is quite the unpleasant surprise to wake up to (you might NEED some coffee first) but Indonesian game designer Mohammed Fahmi, creator of the popular indie game Coffee Talk, has passed. He was only 32.
In an age where it’s harder than ever to get noticed as an indie game developer, Fahmi found success nearly instantly with what would unfortunately be his only released game. Best described as a visual novel with light interactive elements, Coffee Talk is a pretty mellow game set in an alternate-universe Seattle where you serve as barista to a community of mythical creatures. As you listen to their problems, you can offer advice as well as drinks (you have recipes for some things, but will be forced to improvise if somebody asks for something off-menu).
Fahmi’s passing was announced by his sister on his own Twitter account early this morning (US time). Toge Productions, the publisher that distributed Coffee Talk, said “We’re absolutely devastated by the news. We already miss him...
